Our chunky monkey

All went well with the u/s yesterday! I was nervous and still extremely angry at Jimmy when i went in, in fact i got there 20 minutes early. The receptionist and u/s tech remembered me from last time and the ushered me right in, no waiting! As SOON as the u/s tech put the wand on my belly she said "Now, i haven't taken measurements yet, but you definitely do NOT have Poly", i just burst into tears. I hadn't realized JUST how worried i was until she said that. She then proceeded to take measurements and informed me that the measurments show Ike due on Sept 21, but since that is within 10 days of my EDD, they will NOT change my due date. However, even though the measurements show Ike is on track he weighs 6.5 pounds! I have a GINORMOUS baby in there! She also thinks that when my belly was being measured Ike may have been all balled up making the numbers (cm) SEEM higher than they actually were. So, to sum it up, no Poly, i'm not further ahead than we thought, i just have one big baby! In fact if i make it to 40 weeks he's estimated to be 10 pds, that's just crazy!

She was able to get a picture of Ike's face and print it for me! Last time, Ike kept turning away from the camera so we couldn't see his face (little booger). This time though he was apparently sleeping and sucking his thumb and we snuck up on him! He removed his thumb from his mouth and kinda smiled at me (i swear he knew that his mommy was looking at him)! It's a good thing for Jim, that Ike has his cute little piggy nose because that's the ONLY reason that i went back to work and did not murder my husband; all i could see when i saw Jim was Ike's little nose!

Yipee for no poly.... I'm sorry your baby is so big though. Sometimes they over estimate the size using the ultrasound. The last one I had before E came said he was over 8.5 lbs but when he came out a week later he was only 8 lbs. But if he does end up being a 10 lb baby don't spend money on newborn diapers or clothes. He'll be out of them so fast you won't know what to do.

That is such good news, I'm so glad you don't have to deal with Poly. I second the sentiment about the newborn clothes. If he is a 10 pounder, he might not ever fit into newborn clothes. He'll probably go straight to 0-3 months.

That is Great News!!!!! He is a healthy little man. It is easy to forget how mad you are at things like Jim not going to your apt when you see your little man on screen. It really melts your heart. I still get teared up when I see Collin on the U/S...it is amazing how a little baby is growing inside you. He looks adorable!!!
