I was in tears this morning when i fed Ike his bottle. I miss nursing him. There i said it and in so saying i acknowledge that i am infact a lunatic. I also decided to act on this emotion today and this evening about an hour after his 4pm bottle i tried it. I honestly didn't even know if it would work, i haven't pumped in days, but Ike latched immediately, no problems and afterwards sneezed milk all over Jimmy so SOMETHING came out! I am so excited! I tried it again after his bath and then gave him a bottle (don't want my growing boy to go hungry!), but he only took 4 out of the 5 ounces and typically he finishes the 5 ounces and looks around for more! So i took that as a sign that he got some more nay nay (as Jimmy calls it, lol). I am so excited! I don't know if I will be able to nurse full time anymore, but at least i can nurse him sometimes. I just missed the bonding with Ike and i think i was just really overwhelmed with breastfeeding because the break has really helped me and i think it helped Ike too. So wish me luck that with whatever happens that Ike and i can be happy :)
Oh and PSA: For those who may be needing to purchase a carseat in the near future or it would be convenient to have one, Target has the Britax Marathon Convertible carseat on crazy sale. Normally this sucker is about $300, but i just bought mine for $45! I figured we would need to be getting another carseat within a year anyway because Ike will outgrow his and this carseat holds infants rear facing 5-35 pds and foward facing up to 65 pds, so Jimmy said to go ahead and order it, might as well since carseats are expensive!!! So here's the link just in case you are interested or know someone who is (perfect for grandparents who didn't want to spend a ton, or aunts/uncles etc!):

I'm glad you've had at least a moment of successful nursing. It can be so frustrating when that doesn't happen, but when it does, the bond is wonderful. Good luck with you, whatever you decide.
I'm so glad you are working through the whole infant feeding confusion. When Daniel was born, I actually couldn't get him to nurse for the first 3 weeks! I pumped some, but not much. Then one evening I tried it out of curiosity... he nursed for another 5 months! I think sometimes, we just need to take a break and get some sanity back after having a baby before we can get it to work out just the way we want it to.
Ahhh, the joys of being a mother. I'm trying to live by the philosophy of "it is what it its" and just enjoy each moment come what may.
