Baby Whisperer

Okay so here's the post where i fess up and admit that the reason Ike cries non-stop when he's awake is my fault. I have trained him to expect to be held when he's awake (easy to do because he is so stinkin cute i want to hold him all the time). I called Cherie in desperation on Wed, she said to get the Secrets of the Baby Whisperer. Read the book Wed night and Thursday morning, then talked with Cherie again. I have created 2 bad habits for Ike, rocking him to sleep and holding him, so now i just have to undo the habits i've created. According to the book and Cherie, it should only take about 3 days, i say only, but yesterday was HARD! I would set him down in his bouncy chair (without all the attachments and the vibrator thing was not turned on), he would cry, i would pick him up and set him back down immediately after he stopped crying, i swear i had to do this at least 50 times, since i JUST started this last night, i can't really count it, so today kinda begin day one. Good news though, Ike is sleeping MUCH longer now at night! He typically goes to bed around 7:30pm and then wakes up at 1:30am and again around 5:30am! This morning he woke up closer to 5am, so i gave him a bottle and put him back in bed, he slept for another 2 hours! Yipee! I get sleep and i am most definitely feeling more human again. Now for the daytime stuff....

Life doesn't seem so overwhelming when you get a good nights rest! I'm glad for you!

Rhiannon,

Hi. I think I would have left the phone in the porta potty too. I am so happy for your new baby. I didn't know your blog. I put it on my favorites. He is so cute. Really he is. Where are you guys living? How is life? Happy Thanksgiving?

I guess I would be guilty of holding Aidne too log as well, but now he is fine when I put him down. He doesn't seem to need to be held as much as he used to, oh and I rock him to sleep too!! However yesterday he discovered that he actually does like the pacifier and now he soothes himself to sleep.
