Figures

How many times is Ike going to prove to me that he is a carbon copy of his father before he even gets here?
Yesterday's experience:
Before going to bed Monday night i say a pleading prayer asking that i get some sleep as i will be as anxious as a kid on Christmas Eve and i will need all the sleep i can get. I also begged Heavenly Father to allow my water to break in my sleep so that i wouldn't have to get the Cytotec. I guess Heavenly Father decided that i would be better off with sleep.
I woke up at the same time as Jimmy (which is crazy early for me-although i guess i'd better get used to it) and felt pretty refreshed. Jimmy however looked at little lackluster, i think it literally JUST hit him the night before that Ike is most definitely on his way, if not Tuesday VERY soon. Jimmy gave me a blessing before we went our seperate ways. Jim to work (but available in case labor did indeed start) and me to Dallas to see Cherie.
I get to the Birth Center and it's time to get down to business, Cherie checks on Ike and we listen to his heartbeat for a while and then time to insert the Cytotec. I expected this horsepill to be inserted into my cervix, HA! The darn thing was half the size of a tic tac! I think i would have preferred a horsepill because i was not very confident that such a tiny dose of medicine would get my stubborn child out, i was right! After an hour of not being allowed to move (don't want to dislodge the barely there pill), Cherie is rather shocked that i feel nothing (except Ike kicking the crap out of me), so she removed the pill, opens a new bottle and inserts another tic tac (seriously mints could beat up this tiny little pill). Another hour of waiting and no progress and Cherie makes a comment about like father like son (ya think?). Then she decides to remove the pill again and give me the oral dose, with a warning that cramps should begin in an hour (yeah right, that's what i was told about the first 2 doses).
I get home, sleep for half the day (i am told that it would probably be a long night and that i would need my rest) and wake up to contractions that are not in the least bit painful. Jimmy gets home a short while later and i force him to walk with me. I was so excited during my walk because for the first time i was having REAL contractions! They stuck around for a couple hours, and even became somewhat regular, but as of this morning? Nada. This kid is gonna drive me batty! I take back all the cars and girlfriends i promised him, he didn't fulfill his end of the bargain.

There's a reason for everything, he'll be here soon!

You might as well do the old fashion stuff and just wait. When he is ready he will come. Your due date hasn't arrived yet and he is nice and warm and comfy. With both Christine and Michael I did NO dialating until I went into labor. I never even remember my water breaking I think they did that. Each baby is different. I love you and am praying everything happens soon.

I am crossing my fingers that he comes TODAY!!! It's such a unforgettable feeling holding your baby for the first time! Best wishes!!! If he doesn't come by Saturday, maybe a little Twilight party will help him want to come out!
