Longest car ride ever...

Last night we had our birthing class in Richardson, typically it takes us 45 minutes to get there and a little less to get home (it is 10pm afterall). However it took 3 hours to get home last night! Just as we get on the highway there is a looooooong line of traffic across all 5 lanes and NO WAY to get off. We heard that the accident was at the Marsh exit and just before we hit the wall of traffic there was a sign saying Marsh exit 1 1/2 miles. After an hour into this thing i could not hold it anymore, i had to pee SOOO bad, so with Jimmy laughing hysterically at me (glad my torturous state could amuse him) i climbed in back and peed in a Arby's cup. Well guess who decides it's time to be Daddy's henchman and use Mommy's bladder as a punching bag, so 20 minutes later i'm climbing in the back seat again. Which you can imagine is NOT an easy feat, heck i can barely get out of a chair at this point! However, that is not enough! Another 30 minutes pass and Ike continues his antics, but i am out of cups! I hold it until FINALLY we are able to get off the highway and Jimmy speeds up to the only gas station visable. I literally run to the door and the door is locked! I burst into tears and the attendant takes one look at pitiful me and lets me in to pee. Thank goodness for the southern gentlemen's attitude that seems to be instilled in Texans, otherwise i would have bared my bum for all to see just to pee in the parking lot.
I think we might need a motorhome....

Ohh you poor thing..They just don't realize when you got ot pee you got to pee then!!!!!
I am happy you were able to have acup handy. i do that with the boys on our way to church cause it is a 45 min drive and with little ones when they got to go they got to go. It is easier with little boys to pee in a cup. SMile!

Just hope you don't get stuck in traffic when you go into labor! I would have dumped the cup out on the freeway and used it again if traffic didn't get better...good thing that it did and you found a gas station!

It reminds me of Two Weeks notice when Sandra Bullock borrows the bathroom of that motorhome. I'm glad the gas station guy let you in.

Oh, I am so sorry! That is a miserable trick of pregnancy that you can't hold it when you have to go. And when you have to hold it, it hurts! I'm glad everything worked out, (sort of) but that really sucks!

I'm not proud to know this but, if you ever get in a bind back up to a wall and bend completely at the waist. Less sprinkle down your leg. All the things you learn while studying art history in Italy! (You know there you have to pay double -- once for the drink, and once for a place to relieve yourself -- no free public restrooms! God bless America)
