Gratuities

Jenni used to email me (along with others) 5 things she was grateful for every week. It really helped her when she first moved to FL and when i started it, it really helped me as well. I have fallen away from doing the weekly email, but decided it was high time i mentioned them again and figured i would just put it on my blog. So, here goes:
1- Jimmy & his Priesthood: I am so blessed with my husband, he truely is my best friend and greatest companion. I am also very blessed that he maintains and honors his priesthood and the responsibilities that accompanies such a calling.
2- The fact that i am a daughter of our Heavenly Father. I am so grateful that i am not a boy. I know that many members of my family and many friends that are not members of my church believe that the men in my church hold themselves above women because they have the priesthood and i do not, can not and will not have that particular calling. However, i am extremely grateful for the fact that i do not have the priesthood, i know that Heavenly Father has blessed me with other talents and abilities that Jimmy could never know and that in all actuality, Jimmy puts me head and shoulders above himself. Something i've heard while being a member of this church in reference to the Priesthood and why women don't have (need) it: Heavenly Father gave men the Priesthood to bring them to the level that women naturally are.
3- Ike: Words can not express how grateful i am for this tiny (yet growing) baby that i carry and nuture inside me.
4- My home: I am so grateful that Jimmy and i have heeded the Prophet's counsel and have bought a modest home for ourselves. We both feel incredibly blessed with our purchase.
5- Our new Ward: It was difficult for us (especially me) moving to TX and leaving the Lehigh Ward, not that the Highland Station Ward was bad, but we missed how small and close our ward at home was. We are so grateful to feel that same closeness and spirit in our new Hurst First Ward.

another reason to add to #2 is that since you are not a boy, you can be a mommy, which in turn then leads to your #3! Thanks for the reminders of being grateful!
