BBQ

This BBQ did not start out as a fun get together. You see i plan a dinner menu every week and this week i just happened to plan burgers on the grill for Saturday's dinner. Well i happened to read a friends new post and thought, hey i haven't seen her in a while, maybe she'd like some burgers and watch a movie, by the time i had heard back from her i had 2 additional families coming over. What a blast!
Laura and Daniel brought super yummy butterscotch cookies (apparently NOT Jimmy's favorite, whatever, lol), Loralee made the best layered dip i've ever had (soooo need that recipe) and Lee brought their adorable children (i could squish them!) and Jenni brought me my favorite in the world, could be every night's dinner for a month pico and Derek brough Jimmy some Brats (yuck), Mike came along and brought some drinks (LOVE Minute Maid Fruit Punch, it's the best!) for all of us non-alcohol drinking folks. I made my Aunt Sherri's baked beans (which are the best baked beans i've ever had, i hope to make them as well as she does one day, lol) and my Grandma's potato salad while Jimmy grilled burgers, brats and buffalo burgers (ew, had no intention of even trying that). So LOTS of great food and even better company (although that dip MIGHT have been better than the company, lol).
Loralee and Lee had to leave after dinner to take their little ones home, but Laura and Daniel and Jenni and Derek stayed for a couple more hours while we all talked (and usually talked at the same time) and laughed. We never even got the chance to watch the movie, lol. I went to bed without crying for the first time in a loooong time, maybe i should make dinner with friends a monthly (or more!) occasion?
**BTW, i finally found my cell phone! It was hiding in the black hole of a diaper bag!
