Spots!

Ike has some sorta something going on and it is frustrating the crap outta me, we have another appt this afternoon to get a better idea of what's happening.
Started Thursday night, ike had a fever (102.2), so i called the after hours line at the pedi's office.  I was told that it wasn't a big deal and to call back if temp gets above 105.  Ike also had a few red spots on his legs, but i didn't think they were related.  Friday i gave ike tylenol throughout the day and he had a fever of 103.9.  He was also pretty fussy all day which is really not like him.  Friday night when we were getting ike ready for bed, i noticed that the spots were bigger and covered a LOT of his legs, plus his sides, back and arms (not his tummy though).  I called the after hours line again and was basically told ike had the chicken pox and that there was nothing i could give him except tylenol for comfort and to try to keep him from itching.  Fine whatever.
Then Saturday morning ike woke up and his face was covered in spots and his eyes were practically swollen shut!  I freaked and Jimmy went to CVS to get some Benadryl.  We gave ike some Benadryl and that seemed to take down some of the eye swelling, but not all of it.  Once again i called the after hours line and the nurse (a different one each time) was acting like i was making a big deal out of nothing, but if i *had* to see a Dr, i shouldn't bother the ER Dr.'s, but to wait for Urgent Care to open at noon.  Of course i am going to UC, my kid is covered in spots!
I take ike and wait for hours until they finally send us home.  Apparently they think (just by looking at him, no tests were done) that he had an allergic reaction to something.  I don't buy it.  He didn't have anything new, the spots progressed, they weren't immediate, he had a relatively high fever and the oraped (sp?) that they gave him at the UC didn't work.  I will be happy when they finally figure out what is up with my poor sweet baby :o(

Oh, I am SO sorry! I really hope they figured it out today and that he is feeling much better! Let me know if you need anything.

Aww! Poor Ike! Hope the doctors are able to figure it out! Just keep being persistent and make sure they run tests!
