We left on the 26th, as soon as Ike woke up. Mr. Personality was too busy making new friends at the airport and on the plane to take a nap (silly mommy). We landed in Orlando (Ike was exhausted and STILL refused to sleep) and drove to St. Augustine. Ike quickly met Pat's neighbors (Gloria and Bob) and we tried to get back onto our regular schedule. Ike would have none of it! He was up every hour Thursday night, Friday morning he took a 20 minute nap and woke up crying (very very unlike Ike). Finally Friday afternoon, i made ike nap. His eyes were SO red! He woke up after 20 minutes and i made him cry for 15 minutes, he was NOT happy, but he crashed....HARD! He passed out for 3 1/2 hours, woke up in time to eat, take a short walk, take a bath and go back to bed, he didn't wake up a single time that night, lol. The rest of the week went on as normal (well as normal as can be expected while on vacation meeting new people all the time). We went to Sonny's BBQ (the BEST!), walked around St. George Street, had Rita's (sooooo yummy, i forgot how much i missed Rita's) Gelato, however i do not have pictures from that week because my camera batteries died.
Friday morning (the 3rd), we drove down to Punta Gorda. The plan was to stay there a couple days and then continue to Naples, but my Mother In Law was ill and we certainly did not want to pass that on to Ike, so we stopped quickly to borrow my Sister In Law's car (thanks Tiffy!) and drove down to my Dad and Stepmom Debbie's condo in Naples. Ike IMMEDIATELY went to Debbie and my Dad, it was awesome! We went to the pool, went to visit my Dad at work (Publix truly is a shopping pleasure!), ate wonderful Cuban sandwiches, First Watch, the beach (too rough, Ike was not a fan), Iguanamia, PJ Skinny's, the park with my brother, Shannon and Sydney-bean, everything was so much fun!
Thursday came MUCH too quickly, but at the same time not quick enough, we missed Jimmy/Daddy. Ike and i drove to Punta Gorda on Wednesday to stay the night (my MIL was much better and it was her Birthday). We went to Cracker Barrel for dinner and got to spend some time with them in the morning as well. Pat came to pick us up around 10:30 and we met my friend Denise in Sarasota for lunch. It was nice to break up the long drive to Orlando and to catch up with Denise. Got to the airport and had to take some stuff out of my suitcase (it was 58 pounds and the cut off is 50) so Pat could mail it. We got through security quickly and had some ice cream while we waited (yes we, i let ike have a couple of very small tastes, he of course loves it). Then we boarded.....and wouldn't ya know, we get stuck on the plane for THREE HOURS!!! Ike is such a dream though. He got fussy a few times, but never once cried and even slept for about 20 minutes while we waited (thank you to the guy who gave up his seat for an hour so i could get ike to sleep). We finally took off and landed in DFW to an eager husband/daddy, it took almost 45 minutes for our bags to get off the plane, but we finally made it home. Ike was sooooo happy to see his Daddy and his Daddy was soooooo happy to see his Ike. Mommy was happy to see Daddy, but Daddy preferred TV, lol. Check out some of the pics!
